I LOVE how Pilates can transform peoples lives . I have observed people of all ages learn to move with increased confidence, and gain greater mobility and strength through practicing Pilates. Participating in sport and being active makes me happy. Aside from Pilates I love running, cycling, swimming and strength training. From personnel experience I wholeheartedly believe that Pilates can help athletes improve their performance and aid injury rehabilitation.
I am very passionate about teaching Pilates and love working with a variety of clients to help them achieve their fitness goals. For some clients Pilates is a way of aiding recovery from injury or illness. I work with many clients who quite simply want to be more active and improve their level of fitness.
Pilates is fun. It can be done anywhere and you don't need any equipment.
Pilates is for everyone, regardless of age and it can truly help to increase strength, flexibility mobility and athletic performance. When you discover Pilates you are being introduced to a form of exercise that you can enjoy and be challenged by throughout your entire life!!!!!!
When I teach Pilates exercises I can and do adapt exercise to fit with individuals and their bodies. We are all unique, we all have our strengths and weaknesses . In a Pilates class you will experience exercises that can be done whilst standing, sitting or lying down , there really is something there to challenge everyone.
Pilates allows people to move their bodies with increased confidence !!!
I have always enjoyed being fit and active. I had a serious back injury many years ago and have always found that exercise, staying strong and focusing on maintaining a strong core really helps to alleviate and reduce any back pain. Along with the physical benefits of exercise I love how it supports and helps my mental well being. Focusing on my body for an hour, its movement and breathe, helps me to switch off from everyday life and just be in the moment.
My clients often arrive at class a little stressed and frazzled by life, family, work and I love that they share with me what a difference their weekly Pilates "fix" makes to their state of mind and well being.
As well as teaching Pilates in person I also launched a YouTube channel that offers free workout videos and I've a dedicated Pilates blog, http://pilatesmovesyou.com/
